Spam refers to the use of electronic messaging systems to send out unrequested or unwanted messages in bulk.

Who makes spam ,they are called spammers ,they have some several common ways to get a email adress and send you a spam .
 Crawling the web for the @ sign. Spammers and cybercriminals use sophisticated tools to scan the web and harvest email addresses.

What does spam on the social networks consist of?

any website with user-generated content (comments, chat, etc.). It can be manifested in many ways, including bulk messages profanity, insults , hate speech, , malicious links, fraudulent reviews, fake friends, and personaly identifiable information .

  

 Social networking spam is spam directed specifically at users of internet .Social neworking services like google , facebook, pinterest... Experts estimate that as many as 40% of social network accounts are used for spam.

 These spammers can utilize the social network's search tools to target certain demografic  segments, or use common fan pages or groups to send notes from fraudulent accounts. Such notes may include embedded links to pornographic or other product sites designed to sell something.
